Piers, piers, and more piers! All of the interior and most of the exterior concrete structural piers have now been poured, and with them we were able to place our Fav5 prayer stones directly into the footing for a column connected to the entrance of our sanctuary. It was a powerful reminder that this building is not just being built on concrete and steel, but on prayer, faith, and the promises of God. We also have our first vertical structure above grade: the new fireplace. This fireplace is part of the building’s structural envelope, and the steel frame will tie directly into it, this is why it is being installed at this stage.
 

The exterior fireplace installation is underway, along with the remaining foundation piers. Additional grading is also in progress to prepare for the final finished floor elevations within the building envelope.

The next major milestone is the installation of the structural steel. Once temperatures drop and the ground freezes again, we plan to relocate the dirt pile at the back of the property. This will create a staging and sorting area for the steel that will be delivered and stored around the site.
